The ED will admit according to the service outlined by the Grid. The first service called by the ED attending has the responsibility to either admit the patient or find another agreeable accepting service in a timely manner. Residents cannot decline admissions. If the service feels the patient should not be admitted to them, the discussion should occur at the Attending level.
